Although the video game is lots of fun to play, this Bond movie was never one of my favorites.  I feel like they tried to modernize the franchise with all this tech jargon and, back then, I just got confused. I can understand the whole Sean Bean evil-doings better now that I'm older, but by now, most of their equipment's obsolete.

Alan Cumming is a highlight of the movie -- perfect as the goofy techie Russian with a bit of an attitude. And Sean Bean's a pretty good bad guy, bad enough that I didn't sit there thinking about Lord of the Rings the whole time, so that's good!

Anyway, this one's not really a favorite.  It's got some great action scenes, lots of explosions, and plenty of Bronsan-ized Bond to go around.

Movie #186 - Equilibrium

Weird futuristic movie.
Evil Taye Diggs.
Sense Crimes.
Dead puppies.

This is what I took away from this movie.  It's impressive to watch, pretty to see, and is one of Christian Bale's more interesting roles.  Although, of all these people, believing that he's the one to fall for a puppy is a bit of a stretch.  And Taye Diggs evil? Never!

I couldn't remember this movie by it's title, which was soon remedied once I put it on. Then I panicked, because I remembered it as "the movie where they shoot the puppies." And it was all downhill from there.

So this one's okay. Not one of my faves. And definitely paints one of the bleaker pictures of human kind's future, so you won't walk away feeling good from this one.

Movie #76 - Black Beauty

I'd never seen this one before, so I wasn't prepared for the narrator to be a horse.... Once I got over that, I actually started to enjoy it.  Knowing nothing about horses, I can't say whether this movie is an accurate depiction of a typical horse's life at the turn of the century, but it certainly feels as though it is.  The "people" in this movie flitter in and out of the horse's life quickly, but you really see the impression each has on Black Beauty's perception of the human race.

Overall, it's a nice family film.  Kinda sad and depressing at times, but at least it offers a nice, warm fuzzy ending.
